Chillicothe, OH – A Chillicothe man was arrested on December 7, 2024, after being found trespassing at a McDonald’s restaurant on North Bridge Street. Brian Alan Howard, 50, was taken into custody after a brief struggle with police.
At approximately 5:45 a.m., McDonald’s Store Manager reported to police that Howard had entered the restaurant and locked himself in the bathroom. He informed officers that Howard had been previously barred from all McDonald’s locations in Chillicothe following an earlier incident. Police were dispatched to the scene shortly after.
Upon arrival, Officers identified Howard and advised him that he was not permitted on the property. Howard allegedly resisted arrest, tensing his arms and attempting to walk toward the exit. After a brief struggle, officers forced Howard to the ground and placed him in handcuffs. During the arrest, Howard sustained a cut above his left eyebrow.
Emergency medical services were called to the scene, and Howard was evaluated by medics. After being cleared for transport, he was taken to the Ross County Jail (RCJ). However, the jail nurse declined to accept Howard due to the need for stitches. As a result, Howard was transported to the Adena Regional Medical Center (ARMC), where his wound was treated before being returned to the RCJ.
Howard was booked for criminal trespassing and resisting arrest. He is currently being held at the RCJ awaiting a court appearance. The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
