Authorities responded to a property damage crash on McKeller Street late Monday night, resulting in the arrest of two individuals on charges including Operating a Vehicle while Impaired (OVI), Persistent Disorderly Conduct, and Resisting Arrest.

Chillicothe Police were dispatched to the 300 block of McKeller Street at approximately 11:54 p.m. after receiving reports that a vehicle had struck a residence. Upon arrival, officers found a gray Chrysler sedan that had collided with a parked car, damaged a concrete retaining wall, and come to rest in the yard of a nearby home.

The driver, identified as Hayden Swift, admitted to losing control of the vehicle while answering his cell phone. Officers noted signs of impairment, including bloodshot eyes, an odor of alcohol, and physical injuries consistent with a collision. Swift admitted to consuming one Twisted Tea alcoholic beverage approximately an hour before the incident.

Field sobriety tests revealed multiple indicators of impairment, leading officers to arrest Swift on suspicion of OVI. He was transported to Adena Regional Medical Center for evaluation before being booked into the Ross County Jail. Swift was charged with OVI and failure to control and is scheduled to appear in Chillicothe Municipal Court on December 11 at 9:00 a.m.

During the incident, Swift’s sister and passenger, Heavenly Swift, became argumentative with officers, demanding to speak with her brother. Despite repeated warnings, she refused to comply with officers’ instructions and began yelling loudly in the street. After continued disruptions, she was placed under arrest for Persistent Disorderly Conduct.

While being taken into custody, Heavenly resisted officers, requiring assistance to secure her in handcuffs. Following medical clearance at the hospital for a minor abrasion sustained in the crash, she was transported to the Ross County Jail. Heavenly faces charges of Persistent Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest and is also scheduled for court on December 11.

No serious injuries were reported, and the incident remains under investigation.
