Chillicothe, OH – A two-vehicle crash early Monday morning on Eastern Avenue in Scioto Township, Ross County, has left two people with serious injuries. The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) is currently investigating the collision, which occurred at approximately 4:34 a.m. on December 16, 2024.
According to OSHP, a 2003 Honda Element driven by 23-year-old Harley Maynard of Chillicothe was traveling northwest on Eastern Avenue when it crossed into the opposite lane and struck a 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche, which was heading southeast. The Chevrolet was driven by 36-year-old Adam Clark, also from Chillicothe.
Both drivers sustained serious injuries in the crash. Maynard was transported by Scioto Township EMS to Adena Regional Medical Center for treatment. Clark was taken to Grant Medical Center by Huntington Township EMS.
Emergency crews from multiple agencies responded to the scene, including the Ross County Sheriff’s Department, Scioto Township Fire and EMS, Huntington Township Fire and EMS, Veteran Affairs Fire and EMS, and Chillicothe Fire and EMS.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol continues to investigate the cause of the crash, and authorities are asking anyone with information to come forward. The names of the individuals involved are being withheld pending further investigation.
