Ashville, Ohio, December 2024 — Harrison Township Division of Fire staff and families gathered on Saturday December 14, 2024 for a time of honor and celebration.
Chief Shawn Davidson stated, “This is a great family event. We are so blessed to have so many that want to be here in Harrison Township serving this community. It’s a pleasure to lead them and to take a little time out to relax and enjoy being with all of the families.”
During the evening there was much to celebrate, including the swearing in of new hires and promotions. Mackenzie Eyerman, Rusty Smith, Kalab Waits, and Leah Shultz were sworn in as new firefighters. Nicholas Krouse was sworn in as Lieutenant, Jordan Hempker was sworn in as Captain, and Colt Cline was sworn in as Assistant Chief. Conducting the swearing in ceremony was Harrison Township Trustee Bill Welch. Additionally, Alex Keefe was recognized as Firefighter of the Year, and Colt Cline was recognized as Officer of the Year.
Special guest Kevin Dresbach, representing the Sons of the American Revolution presented Chief Shawn Davidson with the Fire Safety Commendation award. This award is in recognition of accomplishments and outstanding contributions to protect human life.
After the awards, those in attendance enjoyed a meal, bounce houses, and axe throwing, as well as a visit from Santa. The evening was sponsored by the Harrison Township Firefighters Association.
