PICKAWAY COUNTY, Ohio – Local law enforcement gathered to honor Russ Pairan for his 25 years of dedicated service to maintaining police vehicles in the community. Pairan, a mechanic known for his tireless work, has played a crucial role in ensuring that the fleet of the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office remains operational and reliable.
Lieutenant Hempstead of the Pickaway Sheriff’s Office praised Pairan, noting that his expertise has enabled their vehicles to reach an impressive 300,000 miles, resulting in significant budget savings for the Sheriff’s Office and, ultimately, for taxpayers. Sheriff Hafey shared that he frequently calls Pairan at all hours, even using FaceTime to troubleshoot vehicle issues.
A variety of local departments came together to celebrate Pairan’s achievement, including the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office, South Bloomfield Police, Ashville Police, and Commercial Point.
Pairan’s passion for cars began at a young age, working alongside his father to repair their own vehicles. He has since built a successful career in automotive service, including stints at Firestone, Valerie’s, and Don Thompson’s, before returning to his current role for the past 15 years.
In reflecting on his journey, Pairan expressed a deep commitment to his work, stating, “It’s not an easy job, but I don’t want to let my customers down. They really appreciate my work, and that means a lot to me.”
While Pairan dreams of owning a ’67 Camaro someday, his current focus is on ensuring that local law enforcement vehicles remain dependable, embodying his belief that everyone needs a reliable truck to get from point A to point B.
