Chillicothe Police Report Highlights Incidents Over Christmas Eve

CHILLICOTHE, OH — The Chillicothe Police Department responded to multiple incidents on December 24, 2024, ranging from disorderly conduct to vehicle thefts, as the community prepared for the holiday festivities.

Overdose Call Leads to Investigation Officers were first dispatched to 295 N. High Street at midnight for a reported overdose. The situation is currently under investigation, with no further details available at this time.

Unauthorized Vehicle Use Reported Later that morning, police received a complaint regarding the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle at 105 Sherman Park. Details of the incident are still being gathered.

Theft and Criminal Mischief at Local Businesses Shortly thereafter, officers responded to reports of theft from a motor vehicle and criminal mischief on N. High Street. Investigations are ongoing as officers gather information about the damaged vehicles involved.

Warrant Arrest at Pickaway County Jail At 2:49 p.m., police apprehended Laura Hall at the Pickaway County Jail on an active warrant for failing to report to jail. She was transported to the Ross County Jail after being served her warrant copy.

Disorderly Conduct Incidents The police also dealt with multiple cases of disorderly conduct throughout the day, including a call to Pizza Hut on N. Bridge Street and another incident at a residence on E. Water Street related to a Temporary Protection Order violation.

Open Burning Investigation Responding to a structure fire at 616 Glencroft Avenue around 5:31 p.m., officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the open burning reported at that location.

Motor Vehicle Accidents and Traffic Violations Additionally, a non-injury motor vehicle crash was reported at the intersection of E. Main Street and S. Mulberry Street, resulting in a citation for a traffic violation.
