Circleville, Ohio — A new dining destination is coming to Circleville’s downtown, filling a gap left by the closure of Gibby’s, a beloved local restaurant. Gibby’s shut its doors just before the 2024 Pumpkin Show after its owners retired. Now, the space will be transformed into a “mid-priced Steak, Burger & Chop House.”

The Gibson family and Black Diamond Circleville LLC are bringing the Black Diamond Brewery & Distillery Taproom & Steakhouse to the former Gibby’s restaurant located at 124/126 West Main Street Circleville.

Linden, Matt, and Lance Gibson, on behalf of the Gibson family states, “we have been exploring alternative uses for the Gibby’s space and with the modern kitchen equipment already in place, and with the opportunity to partner with Black Diamond, the family wanted to continue to serve Circleville with these incredible concepts”.

Black Diamond Circleville LLC and its affiliated entities, the Black Diamond Tavern in Shawnee, and the Black Diamond Taprooms under construction in Greenfield & Plain City are partnering with the Gibson family to bring their Taproom & Steakhouse to Circleville.

The Black Diamond Brewery & Distillery Taproom will feature products
brewed & distilled by the Black Diamond Brewing & Distillation Company LLC in Nelsonville Ohio. The Distillery has garnered national attention as the only Distillery in the nation aging its barrels in train cars in partnership with the Hocking Valley Scenic Railway.

The Taproom will open in early spring with an initial focus on high end Tavern burgers & sliders featuring meat supplied by Train Station Meats & Market located in Circleville.

The Steakhouse, with an anticipated opening by early summer, will be in the newly renovated front portion of the building. The menu is being crafted with the assistance of Chef Alfonso Contrisciani, owner of Alfonso’s Italian Grille in Lancaster and Alfonso’s Italian Bakery and Kitchen in Nelsonville, Ohio.
