Dr. John Ellis, who has served as Coroner since 2013, declined to run for another term. No other candidate ran for the position in the last election. Therefore, on January 6th the office became vacant.
The commissioners have appointed Dr. Seth Yates of Circleville to serve as Interim Coroner.
Per the Ohio Revised Code, the Pickaway County Republican Central Committee has 45 days from the vacancy to appoint a replacement to fill out the remainder of the term.

The Central Committee will meet on Thursday, February 13th at 7pm to vote on the appointment.
