CIRCLEVILLE, OH — The Circleville Police Department responded to a variety of incidents throughout the city on January 13, 2025, ranging from routine traffic stops to more serious matters such as theft and harassment.
The day began with multiple patrols, including checks on suspicious vehicles and persons. At 12:44 a.m., officers were dispatched to North Court Street for reports of a “Hottrodder” but were unable to locate the vehicle. Just minutes later, at 1:47 a.m., officers responded to a suspicious person report on U.S. Route 23 South, where they found no cause for concern.
A few hours later, a traffic stop on Clinton Street resulted in a citation being issued, and officers also responded to an alarm drop at Owens Road. However, the alarm call was canceled before they could arrive at the scene.
Later in the morning, police dealt with animal-related incidents, including a call on Tower Court where the animal was gone upon arrival, and a follow-up call on North Court Street that did not result in a report being taken. Another traffic stop on North Court Street resulted in a warning.
Additional patrols were carried out throughout the day on U.S. 23, Ohio Street, and Edwards Road. At 9:41 a.m., officers responded to a reported violation of a protection order on Avon Drive, with a report taken. A couple of alarm drops occurred at various locations, including on South Court Street and Edwards Road, but were all cleared without further action.
As the day progressed, police handled several civil matters, including the repossession of a vehicle on North Court Street, a harassment report on Eva Drive, and a trespassing call on West High Street. Domestic trouble was reported on Logan Street, but no formal report was filed.
Officers also served civil process papers at multiple locations, including Walnut Street, Franklin Street, Nicholas Drive, and Gumm Place. Traffic enforcement remained a priority, with several citations and warnings issued on South Court Street and Lancaster Pike.
A well-being check was completed at 6:50 p.m. on South Court Street, and later that evening, at 8:55 p.m., officers responded to a vehicle lockout on East Mound Street, opening the car after the owner signed a waiver.
At 9:49 p.m., police were called to a fire at Renick Avenue, but the situation was resolved without incident. The final report of the night involved a theft on Logan Street, where a report was taken, followed by another traffic stop on Lancaster Pike, resulting in a warning.
Overall, the police department handled 37 incidents on January 13, ranging from minor infractions to more serious matters requiring investigation.
