SPRINGFIELD, OH — Four men from Chile have been indicted in connection with a series of burglaries targeting multimillion-dollar homes across Southwest Ohio, authorities announced on Tuesday. The men, arrested earlier this month, are accused of being part of an organized burglary operation that has been under investigation for several months.
A Clark County grand jury indicted the suspects — Jordan Francisco Sanchez, 22; Alexander Esteban Huaiquil-Chavez, 24; Bastian Alejandro Morales, 23; and Sergio Andres Cabello, 38 — on multiple charges, including engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, participating in a criminal gang, and possessing criminal tools.
The men were arrested on January 10 and are currently being held at the Clark County Jail. The indictments follow an extensive investigation by the Southwest Ohio Burglary Task Force, which was established by Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost in response to a wave of home break-ins in Hamilton County.
The task force, formed last year, is organized under the Attorney General’s Ohio Organized Crime Investigations Commission. It is led by Yost’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation, along with the Indian Hill Police Department, and includes representatives from multiple law enforcement agencies, such as the Amberly Village Police Department, Forest Park Police Department, Cincinnati Police Department, and the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office. The FBI, Ohio State Highway Patrol, and Homeland Security Investigations are also assisting with the investigation.
“This investigation and subsequent arrests highlight our ongoing commitment to addressing organized crime and ensuring that those responsible for victimizing our communities are held accountable,” Attorney General Yost said in a statement.
The Clark County Prosecutor’s Office is handling the prosecution of the case, which remains ongoing. As of now, no additional details have been released, and authorities continue to investigate the full scope of the operation.
The four defendants face serious charges, and while the indictments are criminal allegations, they are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
