CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – A Chillicothe man was arrested on January 27, 2025, after a traffic stop on S Watt Street led to the discovery of drug paraphernalia.
At approximately 4:01 AM, Officer Jonathan Davis conducted the stop at the intersection of S Watt Street and E 7th Street on a silver Ford with an improperly displayed and unreadable license plate. The driver, identified as George McDonald, and passenger Stephanie Lindsey were in the vehicle at the time of the stop.
Upon approaching the vehicle, Officer Davis asked McDonald to step out and move to the front of the cruiser for further questioning. When asked about any weapons or illegal items on his person, McDonald denied having anything. However, McDonald mentioned that the jacket he was wearing did not belong to him.
Officer Davis requested permission to search McDonald’s jacket, to which he consented. During the search, two glass pipes containing black residue were found in McDonald’s right jacket pocket. Based on the officer’s training and experience, the pipes were identified as drug paraphernalia.
McDonald was promptly read his Miranda rights and placed under arrest for possession of drug paraphernalia. A K9 unit from the Ross County Sheriff’s Office later arrived on the scene and alerted on the vehicle, but no further contraband was found inside.
The vehicle was towed by CV Towing after it was determined that the license plate on the silver Ford was fictitious, as it returned to a black Chevrolet in the LEADs database.
McDonald was issued summons 11181 for possession of drug paraphernalia and was informed of his court date set for February 3, 2025, at 9:00 AM.
The recovered pipes were placed into evidence, and no further information was available.
