Circleville, OH (January 2025) — OhioHealth Berger Hospital is continuing its commitment to improving patient care with significant investments in 2025, building on the upgrades initiated last year.

Casey Liddy, president of Berger Hospital, emphasized that the ongoing improvements are designed to enhance both patient care and the experience for medical teams. “These projects are about more than just new equipment and facilities—they are focused on meeting the needs of our community for years to come,” Liddy stated.

A standout project, a $10 million surgery center expansion announced in the spring of 2024, is now entering its second phase. The first phase included the addition of a new operating room featuring cutting-edge robotic technology and updates to existing operating rooms to ensure superior care for patients and surgical teams alike.

Phase two, which began on January 27, 2025, will focus on modernizing key areas of the hospital, including the pre-surgery areas, the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), and surgery waiting rooms. The new changes will include private pre- and post-operative rooms, a more spacious surgery waiting area, and better wayfinding to help guide patients and their families through the hospital.

“These improvements will create a more comfortable and private environment for our surgery patients and their loved ones,” said Melissa Fausnaugh, director of operations for Berger Hospital. “Previously, patients were separated by curtains in waiting and recovery areas, but now they’ll have their own private spaces to meet with care teams and spend quality time with family.”

Other initiatives planned for 2025 include the installation of upgraded hyperbaric oxygen chambers at OhioHealth Wound Care in Circleville and a $170,000 investment in state-of-the-art surgical lighting for the hospital’s operating rooms.

With these new investments, OhioHealth Berger Hospital is poised to provide even higher levels of care and comfort to patients and the Circleville community.
