After almost five years, local favorite Cardo’s Pizza & Pasta is making a long-awaited return. The owners confirmed to Scioto Post tonight that they are aiming to reopen before March Madness.

Circleville has been without Cardo’s since December 29, 2020, when the restaurant announced the closure of its location on Stoutsville and Lancaster Pike. That same month, the owners purchased the former car wash property at South Court and Harrison Street and began renovations.

Fast forward to 2025, and the journey to reopening has been a challenging one. The owners cited setbacks, including theft and the difficulty of completing much of the renovation work themselves.

“We lost $30,000 in a break-in. We work hard for what we have, and it was very difficult to move past that major theft. But we have, and now we’re focused on getting open by March Madness,” the owners shared. “We would love to have people inside the restaurant, enjoying the games on our TVs.”

In addition to reopening the restaurant, Cardo’s also revealed plans to renovate the remaining car wash property into a potential strip mall with additional businesses. The new dine-in area will accommodate about 25 guests, offering the full menu for both dine-in and carryout. A drive-thru window will also be available for easy pick-up service.

Stay tuned for further updates on the grand reopening of this beloved local establishment.
