On January 19th, the Logan Elm FFA chapter, along with the Westfall and Circleville chapters, attended a trip to the National Western Stock Show. NWS is held in Denver, Colorado, and has a variety of different things to see. These include things such as shows, rodeos, and other agricultural opportunities. While in Denver, students also visited the Denver Aquarium, went snow tubing on Echo Mountain, and even tried some ice skating. One night they even attended a Murder Mystery themed dinner, where they were able to have an interactive experience. Members also were able to go to a rodeo, where they watched events like bronc riding, roping, and barrel racing.
However, this opportunity would not have been possible without our sponsors. Our top donor was the Circleville Eagles. Their generous donation helped three county schools with their FFA programs. The donation that amounted to 6,000 dollars helped shave down the cost for members, and allowed for more people to have the opportunity to attend the agricultural event. Some of our other top donors include Brad and Jan Shannon, PCCF, Westfall Pumpkin Show Booth, Soil and Water Conservation District, Westfall Boosters Club, and Westfall Education Foundation. We would also like to thank anyone else who contributed. This granted members to have the ability to attend a learning experience outside of the classroom, and gave them a chance to see what the industry of agriculture has to offer.
