Chillicothe Police Respond to Drug Possession, Thefts, and Traffic Violations

CHILLICOTHE, OH – The Chillicothe Police Department (CPD) responded to a series of criminal and traffic-related incidents across the city on February 7, 2025. Officers handled cases ranging from drug possession and theft to traffic stops and disorderly conduct.

Criminal Incidents

  • Criminal Trespass: Officers responded to a trespassing complaint at 503 Lincoln Park shortly after midnight.
  • Drug Possession: A suspect was arrested during a traffic stop on Renick Avenue for possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance.
  • Theft Reports: Multiple theft incidents were reported throughout the day, including at 423 N. Bridge St. (Nourse dealership) for motor vehicle theft, Valero gas station on N. Bridge St., and Dick’s Sporting Goods. Investigations are ongoing.
  • Disorderly Conduct: Officers were dispatched to N. Sugar St. and later to W. 2nd St. regarding separate disorderly conduct complaints.
  • Threats/Harassment: A threats complaint was reported on E. 4th St., and authorities are investigating.
  • Warrant Arrest: A suspect was taken into custody at Dick’s Sporting Goods for an active warrant.

Traffic Violations and Accidents

  • Speeding Citations: Multiple traffic stops for speeding were conducted on N. Bridge St. throughout the early morning hours.
  • Expired Plates: A driver was cited for expired validation stickers during a traffic stop on N. Bridge St..
  • Failure to Yield & Right-of-Way Violations: Officers responded to pedestrian right-of-way and failure-to-yield incidents on W. Main St. and N. Sugar St., with one resulting in a traffic accident report.
  • Failure to Control & Red Light Violation: A crash report was filed after a driver lost control of their vehicle on E. Water St..

Ongoing Investigations

Authorities continue to investigate several cases, including a missing person report from the Law Complex, as well as a suspicious vehicle complaint on S. Watt St. related to drug possession.
