OHIO – A winter storm is set to bring accumulating snow to areas along and south of the Ohio River beginning early Tuesday morning, with snowfall continuing through the afternoon before tapering off in the evening. The storm is expected to create hazardous travel conditions, particularly for southern Ohio and northeastern Kentucky.
The heaviest snow accumulations are forecasted for far southern Ohio and northeast Kentucky, where 4 to 6 inches of snowfall is possible. Areas farther north, including regions along and southeast of I-71, will see a sharp gradient in snowfall totals, with lighter accumulations expected. Winter Storm Warnings have been issued for far southern Ohio, while Winter Weather Advisories extend farther north.
Snow is expected to move in around the morning commute, with the steadiest snowfall occurring by late morning into early afternoon for the Tri-State area, northern Kentucky, and south-central Ohio. Travel conditions could become difficult at times, especially during both the Tuesday morning and evening commutes.
Motorists are urged to use caution and stay updated on the latest forecasts, as uncertainty remains regarding the northern extent of the snow. Road conditions could deteriorate quickly, so travelers should allow for extra time and be prepared for potential delays.
Stay tuned for updates as the storm develops.
