A dramatic police pursuit in Chillicothe ended with the arrest of Blake Madru, following a series of traffic violations and a high-speed chase on the night of February 26, 2025. The incident began just after 1:30 AM when Officer Jonathan Davis attempted a traffic stop on a white van, at the intersection of Mill Street.
According to the report, Madru, the driver of the van, failed to stop at the intersection and continued driving despite the officer’s activated overhead lights. Officer Davis initiated a pursuit, following the vehicle as it sped south on North High Street. During the pursuit, the van attempted to evade officers, hitting one of the police cruisers as it drove through a yard before getting back on North High Street.
The chase continued through several intersections, with Madru running multiple stop signs and red lights. Officers then attempted a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT), but the maneuver was unsuccessful. The pursuit eventually ended when the van turned into an alley between Yoctangee Parkway and North High Street, where it came to a stop behind 284 Yoctangee Parkway.
Officer Davis, with backup from Officer John Elrich, ordered Madru out of the vehicle at gunpoint. Madru was arrested and transported to the Ross County Jail. Upon further investigation, it was confirmed that Madru had an outstanding warrant for failure to comply with a peace officer’s signal. He was also cited for multiple traffic violations, including driving under suspension, running stop signs, and failing to signal.
The van was towed from the scene, and Madru’s arrest marks the end of a tense situation that lasted over three minutes and spanned 1.31 miles.
