Chillicothe Police, Ross County Sheriff Respond to Thefts, Trespassing, and Drug Incidents

Chillicothe, OH – Law enforcement officers in Chillicothe and Ross County responded to a series of incidents on February 27, 2025, ranging from theft and trespassing to drug-related offenses and traffic violations.

Chillicothe Police Department Reports:

  • Custody Dispute: Officers were dispatched to a residence on W. Main St. early in the morning for a custody interference case.
  • Traffic Violations: A driver was stopped for speeding on N. Bridge St. and issued a citation.
  • Disorderly Conduct: Authorities investigated a complaint on Vine St., though details were not immediately available.
  • Trespassing: Separate incidents of criminal trespass were reported on Wall St., N. Plaza Blvd., and W. 7th St., all under investigation.
  • Shoplifting: Officers responded to Rural King on N. Bridge St. after a reported theft by deception.
  • Hit and Run: A crash was reported on Western Ave., with a hit-skip investigation initiated.
  • OVI and Failure to Yield: A crash near a Subway restaurant on Western Ave. led to an arrest for operating a vehicle while impaired (OVI) and failure to yield.
  • Drug Possession & Warrant Arrests: A suspect was found in possession of drugs on W. 7th St. and had an outstanding warrant.

Ross County Sheriff’s Office Reports:

  • Identity Theft: A resident on Liberty Hill Rd. reported an unauthorized electric service account opened in their name in Tennessee.
  • Warrant Arrests: Deputies detained a person with an active warrant near US-50 after finding them sleeping behind a dumpster. Another individual with a warrant was arrested on Westfall Rd.
  • Theft Reports: A stolen firearm was reported missing from a residence on US-23, and deputies responded to a case of unauthorized vehicle use on Southern Ave.
  • Loose Pig Complaint: Deputies were called to DeBord Rd. for a pig running loose and damaging a yard. The owner was not immediately identified.
  • Traffic Incidents: A driver struck a guardrail near Watson Rd., and another was cited for speeding on US-35.
  • Drug Overdose: Deputies responded to an overdose on Rapid Forge Rd. The individual was transported to Adena for treatment.
  • Trespassing & Disorderly Conduct: Several reports were made regarding trespassing and disturbances on Little Creek Rd., Second St., and Lincoln Park Apartments.
  • Scam & Fraud Reports: A caller on Polk Hollow Rd. reported possible fraudulent activity regarding material deliveries. Another scam complaint was filed on Clayburne Blvd.
