PICKAWAY COUNTY, OH – A 28-year-old woman is behind bars after leading law enforcement on a high-speed chase spanning two counties, reaching speeds over 100 mph, and barreling through a construction zone before finally being stopped in Ross County.

The incident began around 11:30 a.m. on Wendsday when the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a reckless driver heading south on US-23 in the area of SR-762. Deputies located the vehicle just south of Circleville and attempted a traffic stop, but the driver refused to pull over and instead accelerated, igniting a dangerous pursuit.

The suspect sped through a construction zone at high speeds, continuing southbound into Ross County where Ross County units picked up the chase. Law enforcement officers successfully deployed stop sticks, puncturing all four of the vehicle’s tires near the weigh station in Ross County, bringing the chase to an end.

The driver, identified as Brooke Chambers, was arrested at the scene and charged with failure to comply and reckless operation. She was transported to the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office, where she remains in custody awaiting a court appearance on Friday.

Authorities have not released further details, and the case remains under investigation.
