PLEASANTVILLE, Ohio – The Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the discovery of human remains found in a wooded area on March 9, 2025.
Deputies responded to the 5300 block of Geiger Road after a local resident reported the finding. Upon arrival, authorities confirmed the presence of what appeared to be human remains. The area was immediately secured as detectives and investigators from the Coroner’s Office began processing the scene for evidence.
Sheriff Alex Lape assured the public that investigators are working diligently to determine the identity of the individual and the circumstances surrounding the discovery.
“We understand the concerns of the community and are committed to conducting a thorough and transparent investigation,” Sheriff Lape said.
The remains have been sent to the Coroner’s Office for further examination, with an autopsy set to determine the cause and manner of death.
