CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – A Chillicothe laundromat was vandalized overnight after an unidentified individual attempted to break into several machines before engaging in lewd behavior inside the business.
According to a police report, officers were dispatched to 92 S. Walnut Street following a complaint of vandalism. Upon arrival, they spoke with, the owner of the laundromat, who described the bizarre sequence of events caught on his store’s security cameras.

He told police that an individual entered the business and began doing laundry as usual. However, at some point, the person retrieved a crowbar from their laundry and attempted to pry open an ATM, a coin machine, and several washing machines. Surveillance footage captured the suspect trying to break into the machines, causing an estimated $1,500 to $2,000 in damages. The damage has rendered the machines inoperable until repairs can be made.

The situation took an even more disturbing turn when the suspect sat in a chair in the corner of the business and engaged in indecent behavior. The Owner, concerned for the safety of his customers—many of whom are women—told police he could not allow such behavior in his establishment.
The Owner has requested that the individual be barred from the business if located and has expressed his intent to press charges. He provided police with screenshots of the suspect, which have been distributed to all Chillicothe Police Department personnel in an effort to identify the individual.
Authorities are continuing their investigation. Anyone with information regarding the incident is urged to contact the Chillicothe Police Department.
