CIRCLEVILLE, OH – Circleville Middle School will be closed for the next two days due to a stomach virus outbreak affecting students and staff, Superintendent Kimberly Halle announced Wednesday evening.
The closure, scheduled for Thursday, March 27, and Friday, March 28, comes after a high number of absences linked to the virus. According to school officials, the illness is highly contagious for 48 hours, prompting the decision to temporarily shut down the school to help contain its spread.
All evening activities at CMS are also canceled during this time. However, Circleville High School and Elementary School will remain open and operate as usual.
Families are urged to keep children home if they experience symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, fever, or body chills.
“We hope your family stays healthy,” Superintendent Halle said, adding, “Go Tigers!”
