
The Chillicothe Police Department had a busy day on April 9, responding to a total of 28 incidents across the city, ranging from traffic stops and warrants to drug overdoses and theft investigations.
The day began shortly after midnight with a traffic stop on N. Bridge Street in Chillicothe, followed closely by a response to a drug overdose on Elm Street. Later in the early morning, officers were dispatched to a welfare check at the Pilot gas station on E. Main Street, which led to an OVI investigation.
Throughout the morning, police conducted multiple traffic stops resulting in citations for suspended licenses and speeding. At least three warrants were served during the day, and officers were called to a trespassing complaint at Urgent Care on N. Bridge Street.
A report of a dog bite was taken on Park Street, and later that afternoon, officers responded to a reported burglary in progress at a residence on E. Main Street. A hit-skip crash was reported on Western Avenue, and police also investigated a theft on Forest Lane.
One of the more serious calls involved a report of sexual assault taken over the phone from a Liberty Street resident. Later, an assault was reported near S. Watt Street and Washington Avenue.
Other incidents included two separate drug overdoses, multiple calls involving juveniles, and the towing of a vehicle with expired registration and flat tires on N. High Street.
The day closed with a stolen license plate incident on a vehicle stopped on Elm Street just before midnight.
Several cases remain under investigation.
