Circleville, OH – The Circleville-PRCTC FFA Chapter has been awarded a grant from the Ohio FFA Foundation to support a new agricultural initiative aimed at helping the local community. The program will focus on raising broiler chickens, with the processed meat being donated to area food banks and Circleville City Schools.

The Circleville-based chapter was one of 19 across the state to receive funding, with grants ranging from $1,000 to $4,000. The local chapter will use the grant to construct a small barn to house the chickens as part of a hands-on agricultural education project. The initiative is expected to be completed by May 2025.

“Being able to raise these chickens has created a hands-on experience for all students to develop responsibility skills in and outside of the classroom,” said Chapter President Amelia Tarbill.

The project is being carried out in partnership with local food banks and Circleville City Schools and is part of the Ohio FFA Foundation’s Chapter Success Grants program. The program is supported by Heritage Cooperative, the Ohio Department of Agriculture, and Trillium Farms.
