Circleville, OH— OhioHealth Berger Hospital celebrated the impact of its volunteer team at an April 7 recognition luncheon, honoring the more than 5,000 hours volunteers contributed in 2024 to support patients, visitors and staff.
“Our volunteers truly are the heart and soul of our hospital,” said Berger Hospital president Casey Liddy. “They bring compassion, comfort and connection to everyone who walks through our doors.”
Volunteers served in roles across the hospital’s main and Sharon Road entrances, the Circleville Health Center and the hospital gift shop, logging a total of 5,128 service hours last year.
“Today is about recognizing your unwavering dedication, your compassion and the many hours you have devoted to making a difference in the lives of our patients, their families and our entire healthcare team,” said Gretchen Roberts, Berger’s chief nursing officer.
For some volunteers, the work has spanned decades. Circleville resident Meg Kadunc has been part of the Berger volunteer family since 1978. She currently volunteers at the Circleville Health Center, greeting patients and offering comfort in the waiting area.
“I love volunteering there because they are very professional and kind — everything you would want in someone who is taking care of you,” Kadunc said.
