
The Chillicothe Police Department responded to more than two dozen calls across the city on April 28, ranging from theft and disorderly conduct to a report of aggravated robbery.
In the early morning hours, officers conducted a traffic stop involving a blue Ford Taurus for a suspected driving under suspension violation on North Bridge Street. Around the same time, a juvenile who had been reported missing returned home at 701 Lincoln Park, and a minor vehicle crash occurred at Nourse EZ Credit on River Trace Lane.
Later that morning, a vandalism complaint brought officers to 153 E 5th Street, while another call led them to the Salvation Army on East 4th Street for a disorderly conduct incident. Officers also investigated a theft on Church Street and a report of telecommunications harassment involving a juvenile on Yoctangee Parkway.
By midday, officers responded to multiple theft reports, including one at Pilot on East Main Street and a shoplifting complaint at Kohl’s on River Trace Lane. A criminal trespass complaint was also filed at McArthur Gardens, and a warrant was served in connection to the Kohl’s theft.
In the afternoon, officers dealt with several traffic-related calls, including a crash at North Hickory Street involving a stop sign violation and another at North High Street related to failure to yield while turning left. A disorderly conduct incident was reported on Clay Street involving a physical altercation, and a separate threat complaint was investigated at Yoctangee Park.
Later in the evening, officers were dispatched to 157 S. Paint Street for a property damage crash that included possible OVI charges. Another major incident occurred on South Hickory Street where police investigated a suspected breaking and entering. Additional juvenile-related calls were handled on East 7th Street and West 5th Street.
Among the 25 total cases logged for the day, other notable calls included a non-criminal report of a deceased individual and complaints of illegal dirt bike activity in a local park.
The Chillicothe Police Department noted that many of these cases remain under investigation.
