PICKAWAY COUNTY, OH — A vacant house slated for demolition was destroyed by fire Thursday afternoon in Northern Pickaway County.

The call came in around 4 p.m. reporting a structure fire at 3862 Duvall Road. When firefighters arrived, they found the house fully engulfed in flames. Additional fire departments were called in for mutual aid, including tanker support, to help battle the blaze.

The property is owned by Cap 5 Columbus Development LLC, a Columbus-based company that purchased the land last year. The company had been in the process of gutting the structures for future development.
Despite firefighting efforts, the building was completely burned to the ground. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
