CHILLICOTHE, OH – Adena Regional Medical Center celebrated the first birth of 2025 when Meygan Richter and Noah Colley welcomed their son, Neo, into the world on January 2 at 8:17 p.m.
The Wheelersburg couple’s baby boy arrived about a week before his due date, weighing 8 pounds and measuring 21 inches long. He is the younger sibling of 19-month-old daughter, Murphy. The name “Neo” is a nod to Noah’s love for “The Matrix” films.
Meygan and Noah were caught off guard when Neo made his early arrival. “I had a doctor’s appointment Thursday, but I woke up early, did the dishes, and my water broke,” Meygan shared. “I thought, ‘He beat us to the punch, I guess.’”
The couple chose Adena Health for both their pre-natal care and deliveries due to the personalized, compassionate care they received. “It feels like Adena values you as a person,” Noah said. “Their time, knowledge, and the way they make you feel comfortable really made a difference for us.”
Meygan also praised the care provided by nurse midwives Jaclyn Fraley and Natasha McCoy, adding, “Everything went according to plan and was real easy, other than not expecting Neo to come when he did.”
In a special twist, Neo’s birth marks him as one of the first babies of a new generation – Generation Beta. This generation, born between 2025 and 2039, is defined by coming of age alongside advancements in technology, including artificial intelligence.
“That’s awesome,” Meygan said. “What a fun fact.”
As the first baby born at Adena in 2025, the family was presented with a gift basket filled with newborn essentials. Adena typically helps deliver around 1,000 babies each year.
