June 25, 2024 — The AMVETS Post 2256 Scholarship Committee has awarded a total of $10,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors from area high schools, along with a $500 scholarship from the Joe Dierdough Scholarship Fund. Joe Dierdough, a former Marine Corps member, left a significant legacy for scholarships, which the AMVETS Post 2256 Scholarship Committee has allocated to deserving students who met the qualifications.
The 2024 scholarship recipients are:
- John Scribner, New Hope Christian School, also awarded the Joe Dierdough Scholarship.
- Olivia Bright and Clara Wilson, Logan Elm High School.
- William Search and Samuel Crosby, Circleville High School.
- Addyson Pugh, Amanda-Clearcreek High School.
- Emma Noecker and McKenna Kautz, Teays Valley High School.
- Allison Copeland and Jaylyn Wippel, Westfall High School.
