The highly anticipated Arnold Sports Festival is back in Columbus this weekend, bringing together athletes and fitness enthusiasts from around the globe. Expected to generate $15.6 million in economic impact, the three-day event, which begins Friday at the Greater Columbus Convention Center, is set to showcase a range of fitness competitions, vendors, and a massive audience.

Over 8,400 hotel rooms have been booked across Columbus for the event, underscoring its national and international appeal. As the largest multi-sport festival in the U.S., the Arnold Sports Festival hosts a diverse array of sports, from bodybuilding to equestrian events.

One of the major highlights is the USA Weightlifting competition, which features two strength contests: the North American Open Series 1 and the National University Championships. Over 1,300 athletes will compete in these events, with each competitor performing three attempts at the Snatch and Clean and Jerk lifts. The athlete with the highest total score will be crowned the winner.

Additionally, the Arnold Amateur competition, open to athletes worldwide, will feature fierce competition in categories such as Men’s Bodybuilding, Women’s Bodybuilding, Classic Physique, Women’s Physique, Fitness, Figure, Bikini, and Wellness. The overall winners in each category will be granted professional status, allowing them to compete in the prestigious IFBB Pro League. The top two winners in Open Men’s Physique and Open Bikini will also receive pro status.

USA Weightlifting and the Arnold Amateur competitions kick off Thursday morning at 8 a.m. and run until 10 p.m. For fans of bodybuilding, the IFBB Pro League Meet & Greet will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. Guests will have the opportunity to meet some of the biggest stars in the sport, including 2024 Arnold Classic Physique winner Wesley Vissers.

The Arnold Expo, which opens on Friday, is another major attraction of the event, with fitness enthusiasts flocking to the convention center to meet top athletes, explore vendors, and participate in interactive exhibits.

The Arnold Sports Festival continues through Sunday, drawing thousands of spectators and competitors to Columbus for one of the biggest celebrations of fitness and athleticism in the world.
