Ashville, OH – July 22, 2024 – A routine domestic incident took a violent turn on Monday when Ashville police responded to a call involving domestic assault and erratic behavior, resulting in the arrest of Sabrina Siriano, 39, on multiple charges including assault on a police officer.

Ashville Officer was dispatched to St following reports of a physical altercation where Sabrina Siriano allegedly assaulted her mother-in-law before fleeing in her 2015 Honda SUV. Dispatch alerted the Officer that Siriano might be heading to W Main St.

Upon arriving at W Main St around 8:38 p.m., the Officer spotted Siriano’s gray SUV parked roughly 150 yards south of the residence in a tree-lined area. Shortly thereafter, the Officer made contact with Siriano in the driveway, where he detected a strong odor of alcohol emanating from her. Siriano admitted to consuming alcohol and driving from her nearby residence at Scioto St.

As the Officer attempted to ascertain the details of the incident, Siriano grew increasingly agitated, displaying erratic behavior and refusing to cooperate. Concerned for her safety and that of others, the Officer detained Siriano and took her back to Scioto St to gather more information from her mother-in-law.

However, upon arriving at the residence, Siriano became more confrontational kicking the inside of the cruiser, escalating to the point where the Officer attempted to calm her. In response, Siriano violently resisted, kicking the Officer, trying to get out of the vehicle, and slamming the officer’s hand in the cruiser door. The situation further deteriorated when Siriano allegedly bit the Officer on his left thigh, breaking the skin.

Faced with escalating resistance and potential harm, the Officer made the decision to handcuff Siriano, who continued to resist and lash out physically. With the assistance of backup officers from South Bloomfield and a county unit, the Officer was eventually able to subdue Siriano and transport her to the Pickaway County jail. During the trip from Ashville to Pickaway County Siriano continued to act erratically.

During the domestic incident, a juvenile, sustained minor injuries, including a bump on her forehead, allegedly caused by Siriano. Emergency medical services were called to evaluate both the Officer injuries and Siriano’s injuries during the resisting arrest. Despite initial attempts to detain her at the jail, medical concerns prompted her transfer to Berger Hospital for further evaluation.

At Berger Hospital, Siriano continued to display combative behavior toward law enforcement and medical staff, necessitating continuous monitoring and treatment. The officer was medically cleared and discharged from the hospital later that evening.

Sabrina Siriano now faces multiple charges including assault on a police officer, domestic violence against a juvenile family member, resisting arrest, and felonious assault. The Ashville Police Department has also notified Child Protective Services regarding the incident.

Siriano claimed that the officer used excessive force on her and that’s how she received some of the injuries to her face. During the bodycam video that will be released soon, you can see Siriano get slammed to the ground when the officer attempted to put handcuffs on her, later on after she was pinned to the ground with the officer awaiting backup she was seen on camera bashing her own head on the cement. We will release the video soon.

This case remains under investigation, and further updates will be provided as the situation develops.
