Billy L. Dountz, 81, of Circleville, died December 11, 2017 at his residence. He was born on December 19, 1935 in Darby Twp., the son of Robert and Blanche (Taynor) Dountz. He retired as a Sargent from the Pickaway County Sheriff Dept. He was a member of Elks #77, Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus, Shriners of Pickaway County and Aladdin Provost Unit, Pickaway Lodge #23 F & AM and Buckeye Sheriff Association. He was instrumental in starting Jr. Deputy, Explorers, Dare, Ambassador Programs and worked for U.S. Marshal Service. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Raymond, Eugene, Geraldine, Lucille and Irene.
He is survived by his wife, Martha (Morris) Dountz; children, Diane (Mike) Sines, Terry (Barbara) Dountz, Becky (Rex) Emrick, Teresa (John) Demjen, Donald (Hallett) Dountz, Sue (Mike) Dowland and Mary (Gary) Bryant; 13 grandchildren, Brady, Ryan, Jamie, Amy, Jennifer, Terra, Ryan, Ranelle, Justin, Dawn, Amanda, Jessica and Nicholas; 20 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild and 1 on the way. Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday December 15, 2017 with Dr. Doyne Wiggins officiating in the Ministry and Performing Arts Center at Ohio Christian University. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Thursday in the Ministry and Performing Arts Center at OCU with Masonic Service at 7:45 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children Burn Unit in Cincinnati.
