Circleville, Ohio – On September 5, 2024, Circleville police responded to a report of a break-in at the concession stand by Diamond 1 in Yocktangee Park. The initial report came during a routine patrol of the park.

According to the investigation, Lara Johnson, who manages the park concession stand, reported that the lock on the door had been forcibly removed, allowing unauthorized entry. Johnson noted that while the lock box containing money was left open, no money appeared to be missing at the time of her inspection. She mentioned that the concession stand was secure when it was last closed around 9:30 PM the previous night, following a game event.

At the time of the report, no witnesses had come forward, though a few children were seen riding bikes around the park. No immediate leads or follow-ups were available. The case was initially considered closed, pending further developments.

However, Lara Johnson later discovered that approximately $100 worth of candy had been stolen. The investigation into this theft is ongoing.
