Update – Local Pickaway County Hero Dies in Rollover Crash

Circleville, Ohio (January 6, 2024) — A tragic rollover crash in Circleville claimed the life of a beloved local hero on the afternoon of January 6, 2025. The incident occurred around 3:00 p.m. when OnStar alerted the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Department to a crash near OCU Christian Bible College on Lancaster Pike.

Upon arriving at the scene, law enforcement found the driver, Karen Adams Knisley, unresponsive. Emergency crews worked quickly to transport Knisley to a local hospital, but despite their efforts, she later passed away.

Knisley, a well-known figure in the community, had dedicated over a decade of her life to volunteering with Box 65, an organization that provides critical support to first responders. She assisted emergency personnel in Pickaway, Ross, Fairfield, and Fayette counties at the scene of serious incidents, offering aid and comfort to those in need.

At this time, the cause of the crash remains under investigation, with reports suggesting that a potential medical condition may have contributed to the incident. Authorities are continuing to look into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Knisley’s passing is a tremendous loss to the community, where she was cherished for her selflessness and commitment to helping others during times of crisis. She leaves behind a legacy of service and compassion that will not be forgotten.
