Pickaway County – Two people were transported to the hospital after a serious crash on US-23 involving a Semi
According to on-scene reports, the crash occurred in the area of US-23 and Pittsburg Road around 12 pm on Thursday. Preliminary reports indicate that a work truck owned by Koorsen Fire and Security was heading south on US-23 when it attempted to turn left onto Pittsburg Road. A Semi truck owned by King Transport was heading Northbound on US-23 when the two vehicles collided. The work truck then slid into another semi that was sitting at the light on Pittsburg Road and US-23.
When first responders arrived they called for two medical helicopters due to two people entrapped in the work van. During the extrication and care of the injured, both Medflight helicopters were called off. One person was transported to Berger with injuries, and one person was transported to Grant Hospital in Columbus with more serious injuries. The drivers of both semi trucks were uninjured.
Pickaway Township, Circleville Fire, Pickaway Sheriff, and Saltcreek were at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation at this time.
