Update – Motorcycle Crash in Amanda, Turns Fatal

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Ohio — A motorcyclist was tragically killed in a head-on collision on U.S. 22 in Fairfield County on Monday afternoon.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported that the accident occurred at approximately 3:37 p.m. near the intersection of U.S. 22 and Amanda Northern Road. The collision involved a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander traveling westbound and a motorcycle, operated by Jared Ross, traveling eastbound.

The roadway was shut down from Buckeye Station to School street in Amanda

According to OSHP, the driver of the Mitsubishi crossed the center line, striking Ross’s motorcycle head-on. Ross was ejected from his motorcycle upon impact and was pronounced dead at the scene.

There has been no information released regarding any injuries sustained by the driver of the Mitsubishi. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
