
ROSS COUNTY, OH – A Brinks armored truck caught fire while traveling through Ross County on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. on February 18, 2025, as the northbound truck was traveling on U.S. 23. Authorities say the vehicle became disabled, prompting the driver to pull over to the side of the road. Shortly after stopping, the truck caught fire, with flames consuming much of the front and a portion of the interior.
Both the driver and security personnel inside the truck were able to escape unharmed. Officials have not yet confirmed whether any money was lost in the fire.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
