Chad Hoffman, 44, of Stoutsville, passed away Thursday, November 8, 2018 surrounded by his loving family and dearest friends. He was born February 8, 1974 in Columbus, Ohio.
Chad was a 1992 graduate of the Amanda-Clearcreek High School where he played football and was a part of many victorious football games. He was a participant and supporter of the 4-H livestock programs. Chad and his dad had a beef cattle herd on the farm and marketed beef feeders. He was a grain farmer with land in both Fairfield and Pickaway counties. What best describes Chad is a quote made by our first President, George Washington, “I had rather be on my farm, than be emperor of the world”. He lived, loved, and laughed on the farm and his shop, for him, there was no better life.
Chad was preceded in death by his mother, Doris (Shoemaker) Hoffman; father, Daryl Hoffman; grandparents, aunts and uncles. He is survived by the love of his life, Heather (Lindsey) Hoffman of nearly 20 years.; sons, Seth Hoffman and Silas Hoffman; sisters, Michele Hoffman of Roanoke, Virginia and Mendy Hoffman of Austin, Texas; father and mother-in law, Tom and Connie Lindsey of Mt. Sterling; brother-in-law, Shawn and Aimee Lindsey of Washington Court House; aunt, Cheryl (Hoffman) and her husband, Roger Marshall of Canal Winchester; special niece and nephew, Natalie Lindsey and Nicholas Lindsey.
A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 12, 2018 at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda with Chaplain Jim Ferrell officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Stoutsville. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 11, 2018 from 2:00 -5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
