Chillicothe, OH – On August 30, 2024, a series of events unfolded involving three juveniles and a series of related incidents at the Fairfield Inn & Suites and surrounding areas.
At approximately 3:08 a.m., police were dispatched to the Fairfield Inn & Suites located at 300 N Plaza Blvd following reports of three individuals in ski masks in the parking lot. Upon arrival, Officer Justin Tuttle learned from Officer Seymour that the suspects had fled on foot towards N Bridge Street.
While conducting a search, Officer Tuttle encountered two juveniles dressed in black behind the Burger King on N Bridge Street. One of the individuals, 14-year-old Rayvon Fairrow, was found in possession of a hammer. Rayvon claimed he had been dropped off by his father from Chillicothe because he was getting into trouble in Columbus and did not know the other individuals he was with. During this time, another juvenile was spotted walking away from the area.
Dispatch then reported a juvenile hiding behind dumpsters at Frisch’s Big Boy. Officer Tuttle found and detained 15-year-old Carson Hack, who was hiding beside the dumpster. A subsequent search revealed a loaded .32 caliber Smith & Wesson handgun inside the dumpster near where Carson was found. Carson, who had an active warrant, admitted to having found the gun and had also cut off his ankle monitor while on probation.
Magistrate Szorady authorized Carson’s incarceration, and he was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center (JDC) for processing. He was informed of his court date scheduled for August 30, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. Carson’s grandmother, was notified about his custody status and upcoming court appearance.
Additionally, on the same day, Officer Derek Wallace responded to Garcia’s Mexican Cantina on N Bridge Street, where a laptop had been found in the bushes. The restaurant employees had reviewed security footage showing three males running around the building and one throwing the laptop into the bushes before fleeing. The laptop, identified as a silver Apple MacBook, was recovered and found to have user information on a post-it note. Officer Wallace plans to email the provided address to identify the laptop’s owner.
Later, on August 30 at 11:07 p.m., Officer Tuttle spoke with another victim that had his vehicle broken into while staying at the Fairfield Inn. Missing items included a laptop and a .32 caliber Smith & Wesson handgun, matching the items found at the scene.
The investigation into these incidents is ongoing, with authorities working to resolve the remaining aspects of the case.
