The Chillicothe Garden Club heard from OSU Extension educator Ryan Slaughter in March in the library annex.

The Chillicothe Garden Club meets for the second time in less than a month, to hear from a proponent of urban gardening.

Jenn Slone, Access Director of the Chillicothe & Ross County Public Library, will give a presentation at 2pm today in the library’s main annex. That is behind the main library on South Paint Street, with parking available also from West 5th and 6th streets.

In 2021, she gave a gardening demonstration at the Lucy Hayes Heritage Center.

The Garden Club will have lunch at 12 noon, before the meeting on July 31st, at “The Lunchbox” food trailer on East Water Street behind Ivy’s.

In their regular meeting on July 15th, the group visited a cut flower farm in Pike County and appreciated the growing industry of “agritourism.”

The Chillicothe Garden Club usually offers plant starts and supplies, as well as publication, at their meetings.

The public is welcome to meetings, usually midday on the second Monday of the month. Memberships are only $15.

For information on the Chillicothe Garden Club – especially about upcoming meetings – call member Priscilla Steele at 740 / 774-2708 or treasurer Suzie Natoli at 740 / 701-0188.
