Chilliocthe – Police didnt have to go to far to arrest a criminal that made a bold threat directly in the police department. Chillicothe police were called to the Law Enforcement Complex (LEC) after a man allegedly made threats to “shoot up the city and the department.” Officers arrived to find the individual outside the building, appearing agitated and yelling while speaking on the phone.

As officers approached, the man began walking away but was quickly intercepted after the 36-year-old man’s mom arrived at the scene to give him a ride home. Authorities say the man made the threats after receiving paperwork barring him from Metropolitan Housing, an outcome he was reportedly unhappy with.

Police are continuing their investigation into the incident, and charges of aggravated menacing and making terroristic threats were filed against 36-year-old Robert Althouse, who is now taking advantage of other free accommodations at the Ross County jail.
