Chillicothe, Ohio – An arrest warrant was executed in the vicinity of Watt Street and Liberty Street, leading to the apprehension of a suspect. The investigation remains ongoing.
According to a supplemental narrative provided by Officer Brock Yoder dated March 25, 2024, at 04:43, the incident unfolded when Officer Yoder, patrolling in a marked cruiser, observed a male individual standing in a grassy area near the intersection of Watt Street and Liberty Street. Upon closer inspection, Officer Yoder identified the individual as Donald Carey II, known to have an outstanding arrest warrant.
Officer Yoder approached Mr. Carey and informed him of the warrant for his arrest. Despite the warning, Mr. Carey refused to comply with orders to place his hands behind his back. Instead, he brandished an item resembling a cigarette butt and issued a vague warning of potential consequences.
Mr. Carey said, “I did not want to do that and that it would get bad.”
With Mr. Carey’s non-compliance escalating, Officer Yoder took action to detain him, ensuring to prevent any harm to Mr. Carey during the process. Despite initial resistance, Mr. Carey was eventually subdued and handcuffed with the assistance of additional officers.
Subsequently, Mr. Carey was transported to the Ross County Jail, where he was served with a warrant from the Chillicothe Municipal Court (CRB2302470). Additionally, he faces a charge of Resisting Arrest (M2) and is slated to appear at the municipal court hearing scheduled for March 25, 2024, at 9:00 AM.
