HILLICOTHE, OHIO — A joint operation involving the Chillicothe Police Department and the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force successfully apprehended a suspect, Adam Caudill, after a tense standoff at 346 Arch St. The operation, which began in the early hours of July 18, 2024, was initiated to serve a felony arrest warrant on Trevor Medley, linked to previous charges including Failure to Comply with an Order or Signal of a Police Officer and Receiving Stolen Property.

According to the Chillicothe Police Department, officers attempted to execute the warrant at the Arch St residence after receiving information that Medley might be hiding there. Initial attempts to make contact with anyone inside the residence were met with silence, prompting officers to set up surveillance.

“Officers knocked and announced their presence at 346 Arch St but received no response for approximately 20 minutes. Subsequently, Adam Caudill emerged from the residence and attempted to leave in a white pickup truck.” Caudill was intercepted by law enforcement and detained for questioning.

During the ensuing investigation, it was determined that Caudill had misled officers about Medley’s whereabouts, claiming Medley had moved out months earlier. However, further inquiries from neighbors and residents confirmed that Medley was indeed residing at the location.

A resident on Arch St, confirmed Medley’s presence earlier that morning. With permission, officers conducted a thorough search of the premises but did not locate Medley inside.

Caudill later admitted to officers that he had provided false information out of fear, leading to his arrest for obstructing official business. “He eventually disclosed that he had recently seen Medley and even provided details of dropping him off near South Bridge St,” Caudill’s cooperation ultimately led officers to 195 Old Eastern Ave, where Medley was apprehended attempting to evade arrest.

Both Caudill and Medley were transported to the Ross County Jail without incident. Caudill faces charges of obstructing official business and is scheduled to appear in Chillicothe Municipal Court on July 19, 2024.

The successful operation underscores the collaborative efforts between local law enforcement and federal agencies in ensuring the apprehension of individuals evading justice.
