A routine traffic stop in Chillicothe on January 19, 2025, led to the arrest of a woman after officers discovered multiple drugs inside the vehicle she was driving.

According to reports, an officer initiated the stop on a blue Honda SUV after observing that the vehicle lacked a light illuminating the rear license plate and failed to signal before turning onto Dayton Street. Upon stopping the vehicle, the officer made contact with the driver, identified as Jeanetta, and her passenger..

While speaking with the driver, the officer noticed Jeanetta displaying signs of distress, including shaking and crying. Jeanetta explained she was having an anxiety attack and admitted to feeling overwhelmed. The officer, sensing possible deceptive behavior, requested consent to search the vehicle.

As Jeanetta was exiting the vehicle, the officer observed a clear baggie fall from her jacket, which was later confirmed to contain a white powdery substance suspected to be cocaine. Further search of the vehicle and Jeanetta’s belongings uncovered additional drugs, including a white crystal substance and various other drug-related items, such as digital scales and empty baggies. A statement on how this went was reported by the officer:

I proceeded to
ask Jeanetta once again consent to search her vehicle in which she coughed, swallowed real hard, and looked at the vehicle shrugging her shoulders and stated I don’t care. I then asked consent to search Jeanetta in which turned away from me and immediately started digging in her waist. I noted that the entire time I was
speaking with Jeanetta she had her right arm tucked to her side. Once I asked consent to search her and she turned away from me. I noticed that she moved her right arm away from her side and began moving it freely. As I stepped toward Jeanetta to see what she was digging in her waist for she stated “Aw, my boobs are hard a fuck” and then started shaking her bra. At this time I noted that this seemed strange and not normal. Jeanetta then stated that she would empty her pockets out for me in which when she did I observed her have multiple clear baggies in her hand where she stated that she buys a lot of weed. I proceeded to hold my hand out where Jeanetta handed me the baggies and after looking further I observed white residue inside one of the baggies (Item # 5). Jeanetta immediately stated “That’s not mine” when I showed her the white substance inside the baggie. At this time Jeanetta was placed under arrest for her two warrants and placed in the rear of
my patrol cruiser.

While Whitney was questioned at the scene, she denied knowing anything about the drugs found in the vehicle, though she noted that Jeanetta began acting unusually after the traffic stop was initiated. The passenger was eventually released, while Jeanetta was arrested on two active warrants and charged with driving under suspension.

During transport to the Ross County Jail, Jeanetta allegedly admitted to stealing the crystal rock-like substance from a male at a nearby apartment complex and claimed that the white powder in the vehicle’s console was baking soda.

The total weight of the drugs seized was approximately 81.5 grams. Lab results are pending, and additional charges may be filed based on the results. The vehicle was towed, and the investigation continues.
