On August 11, 2024, officers responded to a call at Sack N Save regarding a suspicious vehicle parked on the property. The vehicle’s occupants, Thomas and a female, were found sleeping inside. Upon investigation, the female provided a false name and social security number, claiming to be around 20 years old. However, her appearance suggested otherwise.
Further questioning revealed her true identity as Joy Brown, who had an active warrant for failure to appear on theft charges (CRB2400186AB). Brown was detained and transported to the Ross County Jail, where she will face additional charges of obstruction for providing false information.
Brown, 47 was served with a copy of her warrant and advised of her upcoming court appearance. The incident highlights the importance of truthful communication with law enforcement and the consequences of providing false information.
