Chillicothe Police Department Daily Media Report: January 9, 2025

CHILLICOTHE, OH (January 9, 2025) — The Chillicothe Police Department responded to a variety of incidents throughout the day, including arrests, thefts, assaults, and traffic violations. Below are some key highlights from the daily log:

Traffic Stops and Violations: Officers conducted multiple traffic stops, including one at 12:49 AM on East Main Street/N Watt Street for failure to stay in marked lanes and driving under suspension (DUS) related to unpaid child support. A stop at 5:54 PM on North Bridge St led to an arrest involving drug paraphernalia and a warrant. Another traffic stop occurred at 8:54 PM on Prospect St involving a driver with multiple violations, including DUS and a warrant.

Warrant Arrests: Several individuals were taken into custody on outstanding warrants, including arrests at 5:25 AM on North Paint St and 11:37 AM at the Ross County Jail. A separate warrant-related arrest took place at 9:14 PM on North Bridge St.

Robbery Investigation: Officers responded to a reported robbery at 8:07 AM in the 500 block of Plyleys Lane. The case is currently under investigation.

Theft and Vandalism Reports: At 11:17 AM, officers responded to a theft of medication at the LEC lobby. Later, a report of theft and shoplifting was filed after a theft occurred at Menards on North Bridge St at 5:43 PM. Vandalism complaints were reported at McDonald’s on East Main St at 5:35 PM and at a residence on Washington Ave at 4:55 PM.

Assault and Disorderly Conduct: A domestic assault was reported at 1:17 PM on Delaware Dr. Officers also responded to a disturbance involving disorderly conduct on University Dr. at 1:13 PM.

Criminal Trespass and Complaints: Investigations are ongoing into criminal trespassing at Cherry St at 1:18 PM and at a residence on North Bridge St at 5:55 PM, as well as a trespassing complaint on North Sugar St at 9:23 AM.

Unruly Juvenile: A juvenile complaint was reported at the Overlook Apartments on Anderson Station Rd at 6:12 PM.

Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence (OVI): A motor vehicle accident involving an OVI-related arrest took place at 11:30 PM on North Bridge St, where the driver refused a chemical test.
