Chillicothe Police Department Daily Report – October 9, 2024

Chillicothe, OH — The Chillicothe Police Department responded to a series of incidents on October 8, 2024, involving a mix of traffic violations, disorderly conduct, and thefts.

The day began with a report of disorderly conduct on East Main Street around midnight. Officers are currently investigating the situation.

Shortly after, a traffic stop was initiated on McKell Street for a vehicle with brake equipment issues, leading to further investigation of the driver’s license status due to unpaid child support.

Officers also addressed a case of vandalism on Madeira Avenue and a traffic stop on East Fifth Street for speeding. Multiple speed enforcement activities were conducted throughout the day, with stops recorded on South Paint Street and Old Eastern Avenue.

In the morning, police were dispatched to East Seventh Street regarding a domestic dispute. Officers are still investigating this incident. A report of burglary was also received on Madeira Avenue, with the investigation ongoing.

Police handled a report of a runaway juvenile on West Main Street and responded to a disorderly conduct report regarding a shirtless man on East Main Street, where he was seen causing a public disturbance.

Further incidents included a theft at a local shoe department and another domestic dispute reported on Madison Avenue. Officers cited a driver for failing to obey traffic signals and for operating a vehicle under a non-compliance driving suspension.

The department continues to prioritize community safety and is actively investigating several ongoing cases from the day’s incidents. In total, the report documented 25 incidents requiring police attention.
