Chillicothe Police Department Reports a Busy Day of Incidents

Chillicothe, OH — The Chillicothe Police Department had a busy day on August 14, 2024, responding to a variety of incidents throughout the city.

The day’s activities began early with a traffic stop on North Bridge Street at 2:07 AM, where an individual was ticketed for a missing license plate light and driving under suspension. Shortly after, at 5:31 AM, officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle on East 5th Street. The investigation is ongoing.

At 5:55 AM, officers were called to Water Street and Sycamore Street regarding young children running in the street. No criminal activity was reported at that time. By 6:31 AM, a warrant arrest was made on North Paint Street.

Later in the morning, at 11:27 AM, police investigated possible drug activity and discarded trash behind Jack’s Tire on South Paint Street. At 11:43 AM, another warrant-related issue arose at Ross County Jail. Further warrant-related activities occurred at 11:53 AM, also on South Paint Street.

The afternoon saw several more calls. A non-criminal report was filed at 12:41 PM on East 7th Street regarding found property. At 1:30 PM, a male with active warrants was observed in Masonic Alley on East 2nd Street. By 2:02 PM, warrants were served on North Paint Street, with investigations continuing.

The day also included a report of aggravated assault on Adams Avenue at 2:48 PM, following an assist to Adult Parole Authority. A duplicate report for this incident was filed under the same address and time.

In the later part of the afternoon, a crash was reported at 3:40 PM on Riverside Street, and an investigation is ongoing.

As evening fell, Ralph Hawk Jr. was arrested on a warrant at 7:34 PM on McKeller Street. However, he was not accepted at the Ross County Jail due to a medical condition. He was issued a summons and provided a copy of his warrant.

At 9:22 PM, an illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia case was addressed on North High Street, resulting in an arrest. The day ended with a domestic violence report at 10:19 PM on West Main Street, with the case under investigation, and a disorderly conduct report at 11:09 PM at Pilot on East Main Street regarding a possible trespass complaint.

Overall, the Chillicothe Police Department managed 17 incidents on August 14, addressing a range of issues from traffic violations to criminal activities and ensuring public safety throughout the city.
