Chillicothe Police Department Reports Busy Day with Multiple Incidents

Chillicothe, OH – The Chillicothe Police Department responded to a diverse array of incidents on August 19, 2024, reflecting a busy day of law enforcement activity.

The day commenced in the early hours with a theft report at 61 North Bridge Street. A passerby turned in a Social Security card found at the location. Meanwhile, officers at 12:38 AM on King Street dealt with a driver cited for driving under suspension. Shortly after, a warrant was served at the Ross County Jail.

At 4:06 AM, officers responded to a domestic dispute at 940 East 4th Street, followed by another theft report at the Valero station on North Bridge Street at 6:13 AM. A burglary was reported at 94 West 5th Street at 7:35 AM.

Traffic violations also marked the morning, with citations issued for a red light violation on Yoctangee Parkway and a speeding infraction in a school zone on West Water Street. A series of criminal activities were reported, including criminal mischief and aggravated menacing on East Main Street at 8:04 AM, vandalism on Hirn Street at 8:07 AM, and misuse of a credit card at 28 North Paint Street at 8:09 AM.

By late morning, police were investigating burglaries at 356 East Main Street and thefts at the Law Enforcement Complex on North Paint Street. The afternoon saw a missing person report filed for a 17-year-old who had not returned from Chillicothe High School, and another missing person case involved a runaway juvenile from Scioto Avenue.

Additional incidents included a traffic crash on Western Avenue, an ongoing investigation into a possible accident on Stacey Road, and multiple theft reports. Officers also managed traffic stops for driving under suspension on Piatt Avenue and continued investigations into various thefts and warrants throughout the evening.

The day concluded with a disorderly conduct call involving an intoxicated individual on North Brownell Street. Overall, the Chillicothe Police Department handled 25 reported cases, showcasing their commitment to addressing a wide range of issues in the community.
