CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Chillicothe Police Department managed a range of incidents on August 31, 2024, including traffic stops, disputes, and thefts. Here are the details from the day’s activities:

  • Early Morning Traffic Stops: At 12:31 a.m., a traffic stop was initiated on Renick Ave. and E Main St. for an unobstructed license plate. Shortly after, at 1:32 a.m., another stop on S Paint St. resulted in an OVI arrest and issues with traffic control devices and an expired plate. At 1:59 a.m., officers conducted a stop on S Paint St. for a vehicle with no tail lights and a warrant was served.
  • Expired Plates and Suspensions: At 3:29 a.m., a traffic stop on N Poplar St. led to citations for expired plates and driving under suspension (DUS). At 10:52 a.m., a vehicle on N Rose St. was reported for expired plates and a citation was issued.
  • Trespassing and Vandalism: Police responded to a trespassing call at Dollar General on E Main St. at 8:31 a.m. and another at 200 N Rose St. at 10:52 a.m. Vandalism was reported at Walmart on River Trace Ln. at 1:13 p.m., and a hit-and-run occurred at 132 Park St. at 1:37 p.m.
  • Theft and Disorderly Conduct: At 4:43 p.m., a theft was reported at 85 River Trace Ln. Meanwhile, a disorderly conduct call was addressed at Danberry Cinema on Pawnee Rd. at 6:54 p.m.
  • Traffic and Drug Violations: Officers cited a driver for DUS and random verification suspension on Madison Ave. at 4:45 p.m. The same day, a traffic stop on Riverside St. at 7:44 p.m. resulted in a citation for DUS. At 4:56 p.m., a traffic stop revealed an odor of marijuana and led to further investigation.
  • Criminal Charges and Domestic Disputes: At 9:08 p.m., officers responded to a theft of services at 370 McKeller St., resulting in an arrest. Later, at 11:52 p.m., a domestic dispute was reported at 622 Seneca Rd. and a warrant was served at 11:41 p.m. behind 341 E Main St.
